Women in Skilled Trades Open House – Thursday, 9/12, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., CEC
This is Club Week: Mon-Fri, 9/9-9/13. All clubs will have reps in both cafes during all lunches! Check announcements in your email for dates and times of meetings.
FGE – Students interested in joining the Future Georgia Educator’s club may get information in room 103.
History Bowl – Any student interested in participating with the History Bowl team should attend an information meeting after school NEXT Wednesday, 9/18, from 3:45 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in room 208 (upstairs in the main building).
JGG – Jobs for Georgia Graduates meet each morning 7:45 a.m. – 8:20 a.m. in room 103. There are still opportunities to join. See Mr. Coker in the Attendance suite for an application packet.
College Visits – Sign up in the counseling office with Mrs. Sweatman to visit with college reps.
GCSU – Private visit Tuesday, 9/17, 12:30 p.m.
Special Testing – Sign up in the counseling office with Mrs. Sweatman for these periodic tests.
ASVAB – Tuesday, 10/22
Accuplacer – Thursday, 11/14
PSAT – Wednesday, 10/16; ALL 10th graders will take this test. Juniors who want compete for the National Merit Scholarship may register by paying $20 to Mrs. Staples in the 300 office by Friday, 9/27.
Car Rider Drop Off – For the safety of students and staff there is NO drop off ANYWHERE on Armory Road in the mornings! Students, if you get dropped off in the morning in the car loop by the math building – or, if you park in that area, please make sure you see the Morning Drop off instructions in your school email.
Chromebooks/Chargers – Very soon we will be upgrading our student chromebooks. You and your parents can go in IC/Parent Portal to see the chromebook serial number assigned to you so that can help verify that you have the correct chromebook. Please make sure you have located the chromebook and charger assigned to you by next week. If you do not have your assigned chromebook and charger, you will be fined $148 for missing/damaged chromebooks and $17 if you are missing your charger.
Lost & Found – Now located in the 100 office! However, if you have lost something of significant value check in the Principal’s office.
Parking – Everyone who drives on campus is required to purchase a parking pass as ALL SPOTS ARE RESERVED! See Mrs. Blount in the 100 office ASAP. Vehicles not parked in their assigned space will be fined and may be towed owner’s expense!
Picture Retakes – Friday, 9/20, all day in the AV room. A schedule will be sent soon. Anyone who was absent on picture day should stay tuned for this information.
Tardy Passes – If you are late for class you must get a Tardy Pass from the Attendance office or the 9th grade Media Center.
Yearbooks – The 2019 yearbook is now available for pick up in the Principal’s Office. Stop by before/after school or during your lunch. Bring an I.D. or receipt.
Junior Float – Sponsor is Hall/Osborne, room 101
Senior Float – Sponsor is Hodges, room 906
Competition Cheerleading Showcase – Our competition cheerleaders will kick off their season this Saturday, and in anticipation of that, will host a showcase on Thursday, 9/12, at 5:30 p.m. in the Old Gym. They’d love for you to come out and show your support.
Friday Football –
Football Safety – For the safety of our fans, athletes, and students ….
Students will sit either in student section, directly beside the band, or with parents/guardians.
Students will not be allowed to congregate behind the stadium, near the baseball field, or the concession stand.
School administrators and NPD SROs will be on hand for supervision.
All students and visitors to our campus are expected to be respectful to all staff and NPD officers.
Students and visitors who misbehave can expect to be ejected from the game and banned from attendance at all other after school activities.
Students who are ejected from the game can expect serious legal and school disciplinary consequences.
Students and visitors who do not drive need to be picked up no later than 9:30 p.m.
Swim Team – All students interested in trying out for our swim team (including returning swimmers) should meet next Tuesday, 9/17 at 6:30 p.m. in the 9th gr café. Parents should attend as well.
