Citing Sources

Bibliographies are an alphabetized list of works used in citing sources. There are different styles or formats of bibliographies (works cited). APA and MLA are two of the more popular bibliography formats. APA is used in social and behavioral studies, while MLA is more widely used in language and literature. Always check with your teacher and see what edition they want your work formatted in. These formats are updated often.

The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (8th Edition) and the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (6th edition) are located in the media center.
